Penn Cambria Families,
Penn Cambria School District is committed to the Health and Safety Plan approved on October 29th. At this time, Pre-K – 4 will remain in full face-to-face instruction and grades 5-12 will remain in the hybrid model through December 23rd.
Cambria County is in a “substantial” level of community transmission for the second consecutive week. PDE/DOH recommends full remote learning based on this designation. However, we believe the District has taken substantial actions to allow the students to stay in the current learning models.
All families should be aware that in the event of additional positive cases the District may need to close specific classrooms, schools, and/or the district and move to full remote learning. If this is necessary, we will notify all families via our global calling system. The District is very aware of the recent rise of cases in Cambria County and we are actively monitoring the situation and circumstances change daily if not hourly.
We are also aware of a rumor circulating that the Governor is going to close schools. There has been no information shared with the District to support these rumors.
Remember to continue to wear your mask, maintain social distance, wash your hands frequently, and stay home when you are not feeling well. Please do everything possible to stay safe and be healthy.
Sincerely,
William W. Marshall
Superintendent
Penn Cambria School District
